A 20-foot by 50-foot mural designed with community input to represent rebirth and the energy of youth, this mural stands in an economically-depressed South Philadelphia neighborhood. A three-dimensional bird wing sculpted from A/B foam adds a sense of buoyancy to a simple design. Poetry by Ntozake Shange. Commissioned by the City of Philadelphia's Mural Arts Program.
