Grays Ferry
©2002 Joshua Sarantitis and PDRMAP, (two walls) 20'x40', acrylic on stucco.

This corner-situated set of murals depicts a mid 1700's artist's interpretation of the first bridge crossing the Schuykill River in what is the present-day neighborhood of Grays Ferry, Philadelphia. Reflecting on this idyllic past is a contemporary girl holding a seedling. She is standing in front of the same location as the original bridge, but instead of pastoral setting, Philadelphia's industrial landscape provides the backdrop to a more modern Grays Ferry crossing.
