Common Ground

The first mural painted in Philadelphia by Mr. Sarantitis was inspired by a local priest who spoke of the need for the racially-divided community of Grays Ferry to find "common ground." The painting depicts seven residents in the neighborhood, each of them commanding the same prominence and respect, and in turn sharing the common ground of the space around the mural.
